Alright, listen up, y’all! Let’s talk about this WWE Hartford CT 2024 thing, okay? I heard they’re havin’ some kinda wrestlin’ show down at that XL Center place. Yeah, the big building downtown. They say it’s gonna be a real humdinger!
Now, I don’t know much about these fancy wrestlers, but my grandson, he’s all fired up about it. He keeps jabberin’ on ’bout some fella named Cody Rhodes, calls himself “The American Nightmare” or somethin’. Sounds like a troublemaker to me! And then there’s this Bayley gal, she’s the women’s champion, I guess. Tough as nails, they say. My grandson says she’s somethin’ else.
They got these tag teams too, like Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? My grandson says they’re real good, always workin’ together and beatin’ up on folks. And that Randy Orton fella, he’s been around a while, I reckon. A real veteran, like me! He’s always gettin’ into it with someone. My grandson loves it when he does that RKO thing. Says it comes outta nowhere!
- Folks are sayin’ you can get tickets to see all these wrestlers duke it out.
- They got different kinds of tickets, too. Some fancy ones where you get to meet the wrestlers and get some of their stuff.
- My grandson, he’s been savin’ his pennies for months, hopin’ he can get one of them fancy tickets.
They say this ain’t the first time these wrestlers been to Hartford. Seems like they come here every so often to put on a show. And folks, they just eat it up! They yell and scream and cheer for their favorites. It’s a whole big to-do, from what I hear.

Now, this thing’s gonna be on TV too, they say. On some channel called USA Network. So if you can’t make it down to the XL Center, you can watch it from your couch. But my grandson says it’s better in person. Says you can feel the energy of the crowd and see the sweat flyin’ and hear the smack of the bodies hittin’ the mat. Sounds kinda messy to me, but he likes it.
This WWE Friday Night SmackDown, that’s what they’re callin’ it. Sounds like a Friday night alright! They say it’s gonna be full of hard-hittin’ action. And I reckon that means lots of punchin’ and kickin’ and body slammin’. My grandson keeps showin’ me these moves, but I just tell him to be careful. Don’t want him breakin’ nothin’!
They’re talkin’ about other fellas too, names like LA Knight, AJ Styles, even that Queen of the Ring Nia Jax. And Kevin Owens, he’s another one my grandson talks about. Seems like there’s a whole bunch of ‘em. I can’t keep track of all these names. They all sound like trouble to me, to be honest.
They’re sayin’ this whole shebang is happenin’ on December 13th at 6:45 PM. That’s right before Christmas, so I guess it’ll be a good way to get folks riled up for the holidays. My grandson’s already got it circled on his calendar. He’s countin’ down the days, I tell ya.
Now, I ain’t never been to one of these wrestlin’ matches myself. Seems kinda loud and rowdy for my taste. But if it makes my grandson happy, then I guess it’s alright. He says it’s entertainment, just like them stories they show on the TV. I guess he’s right. Just a bunch of folks pretendin’ to fight, puttin’ on a show for the crowd. But my grandson, he gets right into it. Jumps up and down, yells at the TV, the whole nine yards. It’s somethin’ to see, let me tell ya.
So if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do on December 13th, and you don’t mind a bit of noise and mayhem, then maybe you should head on down to the XL Center and check out this WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Just be prepared for a wild night. And don’t forget your earplugs! These young folks, they sure can make a racket.
