Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this 2027 WNBA mock draft thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I started this whole project because, well, I’m a huge WNBA fan, and I love getting into the nitty-gritty of future drafts. It’s fun, you know?
First off, I spent hours, and I mean hours, just digging through any info I could find on college players. I watched game highlights, read articles, and even stalked a few social media profiles – don’t judge, it’s all part of the process! I was basically glued to my computer screen trying to figure out who’s got the potential to be a big deal in the WNBA.
The Research
- Started with the basics: I looked up the current top college players. Names like Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd from UConn kept popping up. Then there’s Kiki Iriafen from USC, Aneesah Morrow from LSU, and a couple of Notre Dame stars, Sonia Citron and Olivia Miles. Also added Lauren Betts from UCLA to the list.
- Watched a ton of games: Not gonna lie, this was the best part. I got to see these players in action. I was looking for everything – shooting, defense, how they handle pressure, all that jazz.
- Read every article I could find: I was like a sponge, soaking up all the opinions and analyses from experts and other fans. Found a bunch of cool blogs and sites that really get into women’s basketball.
Putting It Together
After gathering all this data, I started putting together my mock draft. I tried to think like a WNBA GM – what do these teams need? Who would be the best fit? It’s not just about who’s the best player, but also about team dynamics and all that stuff. It is not easy!
The process was crazy. I had spreadsheets, notes, and even a whiteboard involved at one point. I was moving names around, debating with myself over who should go where. It felt like I was making real decisions that could change the future of the WNBA! (A bit dramatic, maybe, but it was fun to imagine.)

The Final Product
Finally, I had my mock draft. It felt like a real accomplishment. I posted it on my blog, and it was awesome to see people’s reactions. Some agreed with my picks, others had their own ideas, and we had some great discussions. That’s what it’s all about, right? Sharing our passion for the game and getting excited about the future of the WNBA.
So, yeah, that’s my story about diving into the 2027 WNBA mock draft. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out in reality!
