Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this WNBA hobby box thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.
First off, I got my hands on one of these 2024 Panini Origins WNBA Basketball Hobby Boxes. They come sealed up, which is cool because you know nobody’s been messing with the packs inside.
So, I cracked it open, and boom, I’m hit with the smell of fresh cards. It is a feeling that never gets old. Inside, I found these autograph cards, and it is said that there should be at least two per box. Lucky for me, I got two on the spot. These are the signatures from some of the players, which is pretty neat if you’re into that sort of thing.
- I pulled one autograph from a player I actually recognize, which was awesome.
- I got another from someone I hadn’t heard of before, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right? Discovering new players.
But that’s not all. There’s also supposed to be a memorabilia card in each box. Basically, it’s a card with a piece of a game-used jersey or something like that. I found mine, and it’s from a pretty big-name player, which made my day. It’s like owning a little piece of WNBA history.

And then there are these insert cards. They’re not as valuable as the autograph or memorabilia cards, but they’re still cool to collect. I got a couple of those, and they’re just nice to look at. I heard some people chase these rare parallel cards, like the Gold ones that are numbered to 10 or the Black ones that are just 1 of 1, but I didn’t get any of those this time. There’s also this ultra-rare Swirl thing, but I didn’t see one of those either. Maybe next time.
Wrap up
So, yeah, that’s my experience with the WNBA hobby box. It’s a bit of a gamble, but if you’re a fan of the WNBA or just like collecting cards, it’s definitely something to check out. You never know what you’re gonna get, and that’s half the fun. I will keep buying those boxes and good luck to me, maybe I can get the rare cards next time!
