Alright, so, let me tell ya ’bout this soccer thing, the “edp memorial day tournament”. It’s a big deal, y’know? Kids runnin’ around, kickin’ a ball. Lots of ’em, too.
This tournament, the EDP Memorial Day thingy, it happened last weekend. They call it a “classic,” which I guess means it’s fancy or somethin’. Boys and girls, all ages, from like eight years old all the way up to nineteen. Can you believe it? Nineteen! That’s practically grown-up, ain’t it?
- They had a bunch of games, like, hundreds of ’em. Over five hundred, they said! My head spins just thinkin’ about it.
- And so many kids! Almost three hundred teams! Comin’ from all over, six different states. That’s a lot of travelin’, I tell ya.
They played these games at a place called Green Branch Park. Sounds nice, huh? Probably got lots of green grass and trees. Good for runnin’ around, I reckon. Most of the games were close, too. They said somethin’ like 70% of ’em were decided by just one or two goals. That means it was exciting, right? Keeps ya on the edge of your seat, like when you’re waitin’ for the biscuits to come outta the oven.
This EDP Memorial Day thing, they do it every year. Been doin’ it for a while now, see. 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022… they just keep on goin’. This year, I heard they called the brackets after military folks, soldiers and such. For Memorial Day, see? To remember the folks who kept us safe. That’s real nice of ’em, I think. Gotta remember the important stuff, even when you’re havin’ fun.
Now, this here tournament, they say it’s a “gold tournament”. I ain’t quite sure what that means, but it sounds important. Maybe the winners get gold medals? Or maybe it just means it’s the best of the best. Either way, it’s somethin’ to be proud of, playin’ in a gold tournament, I’d say.
They got all sorts of these EDP soccer things, not just this Memorial Day one. They got a spring cup too, whatever that is. Sounds like they keep them kids busy, runnin’ and kickin’ all year round. Good for ’em, I guess. Keeps ’em outta trouble, maybe.
And lemme tell ya, they got this thing, they call it “#EDPSoccer”. Kids these days and their fancy words. It just means soccer, I reckon. But they put that little hashtag thingy in front of it, makes it sound all modern and whatnot. They even have a special list they put up on the internet called “Weekend Essentials”, with all things you need for games. Like shoes and socks maybe, I’m guessing. Kids and their internet thingamajigs!
Anyway, this whole EDP Memorial Day tournament, it’s a big to-do. Lots of games, lots of kids, lots of excitement. And it’s all for a good reason, too. Remembering the folks who served our country and letting the kids have some fun. Can’t ask for much more than that, can ya?
So, that’s the story of the EDP Memorial Day tournament, as best as I can tell ya. Just a bunch of kids playin’ soccer, havin’ a good time, and rememberin’ the important stuff. Seems like a good way to spend a weekend, if you ask me. Though, I’d rather be sittin’ on my porch with a glass of sweet tea, myself.
