Alright, let’s gab about these big fellas in the NBA, you know, the real hefty ones. I heard some folks callin’ ’em the “heaviest player in NBA history”, so I figured, why not jaw about it a bit?
First off, there’s this fella, Oliver Miller. Lord, that man was a mountain! They say he was the heaviest of ’em all, pushing near 380 pounds at one point. Can you imagine? That’s like two regular folks put together! He started out lighter, ’round 280, but seems like he enjoyed his vittles, he just kept gettin’ bigger and bigger. Played for a bit, then poof, gone. Guess carryin’ all that weight up and down the court ain’t easy, no sir.
- Started out at 280 pounds, ended up near 380 pounds.
- Played center, big fella, you know.
- Folks say he’s the heaviest ever.
Now, they also talk about this Gheorghe Muresan fella. Wasn’t so much heavy like Oliver, but tall, real tall. Like, taller than anyone ever seen in the NBA, seven foot seven they say. That’s like lookin’ up at a barn door! He played for the Bullets and the Nets, back in the day. He wasn’t heavy like Oliver, but bein’ that tall gotta count for somethin’, right? Probably had to duck goin’ through doorways, I reckon.
Thinkin’ ‘bout these fellas makes me wonder how they even ran up and down the court. Musta been like watchin’ a couple of tractors out there, huffin’ and puffin’. But hey, they made it to the NBA, so they musta been doin’ somethin’ right. Can’t say I ever seen a game with them playin’, but I heard the stories from my grandson, he’s a big fan you know, always yappin’ about basketball.

It’s somethin’ else, ain’t it? You got these fellas, big as houses, playin’ alongside fellas who are skinny as beanpoles. Guess that’s what makes basketball so excitin’. All sorts of shapes and sizes out there, runnin’ and jumpin’ and tryin’ to get that ball in the hoop.
I remember my grandson tellin’ me about how hard these big guys work. They gotta eat a lot to keep their strength up, but they also gotta train like crazy. Runnin’, liftin’ weights, all that stuff. It ain’t easy bein’ big and athletic, I tell ya. Probably gotta eat more than a whole family in a week!
And the shoes! Lord, have mercy, imagine tryin’ to find shoes big enough for them. Probably gotta get ’em specially made, wouldn’t surprise me one bit. Big feet, big hands, big everything! It’s a whole different world, I tell ya.
So yeah, Oliver Miller, that’s the name they throw around when they talk about the heaviest fellas in the NBA. Big fella, real big. Gheorghe Muresan was the tallest, but different kind of big, you know? Anyway, both of ‘em made their mark, left their footprints, or maybe I should say craters, in the NBA history books. They proved that big fellas can play ball too, even if they look like they should be out plowin’ a field instead.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about it. Just some old lady’s thoughts on these big basketball fellas. Makes ya think, don’t it? All kinds of people doin’ all kinds of things. That’s what makes the world go ‘round, I guess.
In short, Oliver Miller’s the heavy champ, and Muresan’s the tall champ. End of story.
