Alright, let’s talk about the Chelsea golf shirt. I’ve been working on a little project, and it’s been quite the ride. I wanted to design and make my own Chelsea golf shirt, something comfortable, and not too tight or too loose.
First off, I started looking into what makes a good golf shirt. I found that it’s all about being comfy and having ease of movement. Nike makes these shirts for Chelsea, so I figured they must know something about it. The sleeves should stop just above the elbow, you know, keep it neat and tidy.
Finding the Right Fabric
So, I went out and got some fabric. I didn’t really know what I was looking for, but I picked something that felt soft and breathable. I made sure to get enough so I could mess up a few times and still have some left over.
The Design Process
Next, I sketched out the design. I wanted it to be simple but still look like a proper Chelsea shirt. I used some pictures from Fanatics’ online shop as a reference, just to get the colors and logo placement right. This was a little tricky, but I managed.

Cutting and Sewing
- Cutting: I laid out the fabric and carefully cut out the pieces according to my sketch. I double-checked all my measurements, but I still ended up cutting one sleeve too short. Good thing I had extra fabric.
- Sewing: I dusted off my old sewing machine – hadn’t used it in years. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it again, but eventually, I sewed the pieces together. My lines weren’t perfectly straight, but hey, it’s handmade.
Adding the Details
I wanted to add the Chelsea logo. I found a printable version online, and printed it onto some transfer paper. Then, I ironed it onto the shirt. The first time, I messed it up and it was all crooked. I had to peel it off and do it again. Second time’s the charm, I guess.
Trying It On
Finally, I tried it on. It was a little loose, but not bad for a first attempt. The sleeves were the right length, ending just above my elbows. I moved my arms around, did a few practice swings – felt pretty good. The fabric was comfortable, and I could move easily.
So there you have it. My homemade Chelsea golf shirt. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It was a fun little project, and I learned a lot along the way. Maybe next time, I’ll get it just right. But for now, I’ve got a unique shirt that I made myself. Cheers!
