Faster than a runaway mule, faster than gossip spreadin’ in a small town. They clocked it at somethin’ like 163.7 miles per hour. Can you believe that? I can barely walk that fast, and I got two good legs!

- Wimbledon: Even at the big game, he hit it fast, but not as fast as that other time.

And don’t you go thinkin’ it’s just the fellas hittin’ hard. Them gals, they ain’t no slouches neither. There’s this Venus Williams, strong as an ox, they say she hit the ball faster than any other woman. Faster than a hawk divin’ for a field mouse. Something like 127.4 miles per hour. That’s like whippin’ a dishrag so hard it almost breaks the sound barrier, not that I ever did that, mind you.
Now, the women, they don’t always measure their speed at every game, unlike the men. Something about not havin’ the right machines everywhere they play. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me, but that’s what they say. So, maybe there’s a gal out there who can hit it even faster, but we just don’t know it yet.

There’s this other fella, John Isner, he’s a big one, tall as a beanpole, they say he can hit it pretty darn fast too. And there’s a German fella, Oscar Otte, they say he hit a fast one at the US Open. All these names, hard to keep track of ‘em all. It’s like tryin’ to count all the stars in the sky, impossible!

Now, when you talk about the “fastest ever,” it gets a bit tricky. Like I said, Sam Groth hit it the fastest at that smaller game, but then he hit it a bit slower at Wimbledon. And Venus, she’s the fastest woman they know of, but maybe there’s someone faster out there. It’s like tryin’ to figure out who makes the best apple pie in the county, everyone’s got their own opinion.
