Alright, listen up, y’all. Let me tell ya ’bout this thing, this Disney Presidents Day Tournament. Sounds fancy, huh? But it’s just a bunch of kids kickin’ a ball, far as I can tell.
So, they got this soccer thing goin’ on, every year, seems like. This year, 2024, it was February 17th to 19th. Next year, 2025, they sayin’ it’ll be February 15th to 17th. Same place, Kissimmee. Don’t ask me where that is, sounds like one of them fancy places over yonder.
What’s it all about?
Well, it’s for boys and girls, little ones and big ones. They say U9 to U19. Means nothin’ to me, but I guess it’s how old the kids are. Youngsters, all of ’em. Runnin’ ’round, chasin’ that ball. Makes ya tired just watchin’, I tell ya.
- When’s it happenin’? February, middle of the month, they say.
- Who’s playin’? Boys and girls, all ages, practically.
- Where’s it at? Kissimmee. Like I said, fancy place.
They got rules and all that. Don’t know what they are, probably somethin’ ’bout not kickin’ each other too hard. And they got a phone number, if you need to call somebody. 407-938-3805. Don’t go callin’ them for nothin’ though, they busy with them soccer kids.
Now, they got this place, a “Resort hotel,” they call it. Says it’s for sports folks, baseball, basketball, football, all that. Guess them soccer kids stay there too. Probably got fancy beds and all. Not like my old mattress, that’s for sure.
They had some kinda welcome thing too. “Important information,” they say. Probably tellin’ folks where to go and what to do. Don’t need no information, just kick the ball and have fun, that’s what I say.
They got this address too, in Jacksonville Beach. 1529 Third St. S. Don’t know why they need that, maybe where they send the trophies or somethin’. Hope them kids get a nice trophy, somethin’ to show for all that runnin’ around.
And then they got these divisions, they call ’em. Boys U9, Boys U10, all the way up. Just means they sort the kids by how old they are. Makes sense, I guess. Wouldn’t want no little tyke gettin’ trampled by some big ol’ teenager.
This whole thing, this Disney Presidents Day Soccer Tournament, it’s a big deal, seems like. Kids comin’ from all over, probably. Parents yellin’ from the sidelines, coaches blowin’ whistles. Just a whole lotta fuss over a ball, if ya ask me. But hey, if them kids are havin’ fun, that’s all that matters. Keeps ’em outta trouble, at least for a little while.
They even got a place to “Find Game”. I reckon that means you can look up when your young’un is playin’. Saves you sittin’ there all day, waitin’ and waitin’. Time’s precious, ya know. Gotta get back to my chores.
So, that’s the gist of it. This Disney Presidents Day Soccer Tournament. Kids, balls, runnin’, yellin’. A whole lotta somethin’ goin’ on down in Kissimmee. If you got kids who like kickin’ things, maybe you should take ’em. Me? I’ll stick to watchin’ my chickens. Less runnin’ involved.
