Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around with making some maps for NFL Week 3. I’ve been seeing these cool maps online showing where games are gonna be broadcast, and I thought, “Why not try making my own?”
First, I gotta get the schedule. Just a quick search, and boom, I got the list of all the games for Week 3. There’s a Thursday night game – Patriots vs. Jets. That one’s gonna be on Amazon Prime. Alright, noted.
Next, I need to figure out which games are gonna be on CBS and which are on FOX. I guess this changes every week, and there are rules and stuff about which network gets which game. Anyway, there’s some website where they post these coverage maps. It shows which areas of the country are gonna get which games. You know, there are the regional game maps.
So, I found this site that has all these maps. They are kinda messy, but I can see which regions are getting which game. It looks like CBS has a bunch of games on Sunday. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at these maps, trying to figure out what’s going on.

My Process
- Gather the schedule: Got the list of games and times from the official NFL site. No biggie.
- Find the coverage maps: This was a bit trickier. Had to dig around a bit to find a site that had them.
- Match the games to the maps: Okay, this took some time. I had to keep going back and forth between the schedule and the maps to see which game was being shown where.
After a while, I started to get the hang of it. I realized that the big games are usually shown in most areas, while the less popular ones are more regional. Like, it looks like there’s a big game in Dallas on Sunday at 4:25, and that one’s gonna be shown in a lot of places.
Honestly, it was a bit of a pain, but kinda fun too. I felt like a detective, piecing together the puzzle. I guess it was interesting to see how they decide which games to show where. It’s all about maximizing viewership, I suppose. Still, it took me a while to make sense of it all. After all this, I’ve got a pretty good idea of which games are gonna be on where. It is a tiring job, but I think I finally get it! Now I can watch my favorite NFL games in week 3 happily!
