Okay, so, I jumped into this NFL elimination pool thing, also called a survivor pool. It’s pretty much where you pick one team each week that you think will win, and if they do, you move on. Sounds simple, right? But there’s a catch – you can only pick a team once the whole season. That’s where the head-scratching starts.
I started off by doing some digging. Found out that the Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills were like, the big favorites. Everyone and their mother were picking them. But I’m not one to follow the crowd, you know? I wanted to be a bit sneaky, so I looked for an underdog that might just pull off a surprise win.
Then I stumbled upon this advice to check out the Indianapolis Colts. They weren’t the obvious choice, but some folks were saying they had a good shot. It was a bit of a gamble, but I figured, why not? It’s all part of the fun, right?
I also noticed that the Detroit Lions were a strong pick, and not just because they were favored. The numbers were on their side, too. But I wanted to keep my options open. I checked out teams like the Broncos, Chargers, and Steelers. They were all playing against teams that, well, weren’t exactly top-notch. Seemed like a safer bet to pick them later.

But then there were the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. They were also favorites, but not as much as the others. So, I made a mental note to maybe consider them for a later week, when the pickings might be slimmer.
My Strategy
Here is how I did it:
- Week 1: Went with my gut and picked the Indianapolis Colts. It was a bit risky, but hey, fortune favors the bold, right?
- Week 2: I played it a bit safer and went with a more popular pick.
- Week 3 and beyond: I’m planning on saving some of the stronger teams for later, when the choices get tougher. Teams like the Lions, if I haven’t used them already, will be good to have in my back pocket.
This whole thing is a balancing act. You want to win now, but you also need to think ahead. It’s like a chess match, but with football teams. And honestly, it’s been a blast so far. Even if I don’t win, it’s making the NFL season way more exciting.
So, that’s my story. It’s not rocket science, just a guy trying to figure out this NFL elimination pool. We’ll see how it all plays out. Wish me luck!
