Alright, so I’ve been wanting to catch the NBA Rising Stars Challenge for a while now. It’s that cool event during the All-Star Weekend where they showcase all the rookie and sophomore players. I finally decided this was the year, so I started looking into how to get tickets.
First thing I did was check out a few different ticket websites. I went to the usual suspects like Ticketmaster, Vivid Seats, and a couple of others. I typed in “NBA Rising Stars Challenge tickets” and started browsing. The interfaces were pretty similar on each site – you pick your event, choose your seats from a map, and go through the checkout process. Pretty standard stuff.
One thing I noticed right away was the price differences between the sites. Some had them a bit cheaper, others were way more expensive. I guess it’s like shopping for anything else online – gotta compare prices.
I also found this one site called TickPick that claimed to have no hidden fees. That sounded pretty good, because who likes hidden fees, right? They had a “BuyerTrust Guarantee” too, which I guess is supposed to make you feel safer about buying from them.

- Checked prices on Ticketmaster
- Compared prices on Vivid Seats
- Found TickPick with no hidden fees
- Explored TicketSeating for more options
Then there was TicketSeating, which also had a bunch of options. And Box Office Ticket Sales mentioned something about “100% verified” tickets, and they said they deliver them fast, so that was another one to consider.
Another site, TicketIQ, said their tickets were discounted because they don’t have fees. They had this whole “Fee Free” thing going on, claiming their prices were 10-15% lower than other sites. Interesting, but I’d have to see the final price to really know.
Tickets For Less was another option I stumbled upon. They talked about making memories and stuff like that. Okay, a bit cheesy, but I checked them out anyway. Also they show the available seats to choose.
I read somewhere that NBA ticket prices tend to drop closer to the game day. It’s like buying concert tickets, I guess. Wait till the last minute and you might get a deal. I made a mental note to check back on the prices as the date got closer.
I also learned that FeeFreeTicket was a good place to find authentic tickets without service fees from different sellers. This was helpful because I wanted to make sure I got real tickets and not some scam.
Event Details I Found
The official name is the Panini Rising Stars Challenge, and it’s on Friday, February 16th at 9 PM at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It’s basically a showcase of the NBA’s best young talent, with first- and second-year players.
Apparently, the average price for NBA tickets is around $94, but I saw a wide range, depending on the seats and the site. Some were cheaper, some were a lot more. It’s kind of a gamble, but I wanted to see if I could snag some decent seats without breaking the bank.
So yeah, that was my adventure trying to get tickets for the Rising Stars Challenge. A lot of comparing, a bit of reading, and a whole lot of hoping I’d find a good deal. I ended up going with my gut and picked the site that seemed most legit and had the best price for the seats I wanted. Fingers crossed it all works out and I get to see some awesome basketball!
