Okay, so today I wanted to share my experience with this “K Allen Tennis” thing I’ve been trying out. I started by doing some simple research online. I noticed some stuff about footwork drills being super important. Apparently, good footwork is key to moving quickly around the tennis court, which makes total sense. I saw suggestions to practice moving side-to-side and doing sprints, so I figured I’d give that a shot.
I went out to the court and started with some basic side-to-side movements. I just shuffled back and forth along the baseline, trying to stay light on my feet. It felt a little awkward at first, but I got the hang of it.
- I did about 3 sets of these, going for about a minute each time.
Next, I tried some sprints. I’d start at the net and sprint back to the baseline, then walk back to the net.
- I did this about 10 times to start.
Then, I found this exercise called “Touch the Ground”. It’s supposed to be great for cardio and for improving something, I can’t quite remember. Anyway, I did this

- I tried to do this for 2 sets of 30 seconds each.
I realized that all of these drills were really about improving something called “acceleration,” but I couldn’t find too much information about it.
Honestly, after doing these drills a few times, I did feel a bit quicker on my feet. It wasn’t a huge difference, but it was noticeable. I think that with some more practice, it could actually help my game. I also realized I need to work on my overall fitness level, I was pretty tired by the end!
I’m definitely going to keep working on these footwork drills. I might even look into some other tennis-specific exercises. I think this whole “K Allen Tennis” thing might have some potential. Hopefully, I will see some real improvement in my tennis game soon. I mean, I’m not expecting to go pro or anything, but it would be nice to beat my friend next time. They always smash me!
My Plan Moving Forward
I’m going to try to do these drills at least twice a week. I’ll also add in some other exercises, maybe some jumping jacks or something. The goal is to gradually increase the intensity and duration of the drills. We’ll see how it goes.
