Okay, here is my blog post about the iSE Memorial Day Tournament:
Man, what a weekend! I just got back from the iSE Memorial Day Tournament in New Jersey, and let me tell you, it was something else. I’ve been to my fair share of soccer tournaments, but this one was a whole different beast. First off, we drove down to Succasunna on Friday night. Traffic was a nightmare, as usual, but we finally made it to our hotel.
The tournament kicked off early Saturday morning. We headed over to the fields at 72 Eyland Ave – seriously, the place was huge! There were teams everywhere, from all over the place. I saw license plates from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, even a few from Maryland and Virginia. It was clear from the get-go that this was a big deal.
The Competition
The level of play was insane. I watched some of the U9 games, and even those little kids were super skilled. My team played in the U16 bracket, and let me tell you, every game was a battle. We faced some seriously tough teams, but we held our own. We won our first game, which was a huge confidence booster. But then we lost the second one by just one goal – that one stung a bit.

- Saturday:
- Game 1: Won 3-1
- Game 2: Lost 2-1
- Sunday:
- Game 3: Tied 2-2
- Game 4: Won 2-0
We didn’t make it to the finals, but honestly, we were just happy to be there and compete at such a high level.
The Atmosphere
The whole atmosphere of the tournament was electric. There were so many people, all passionate about soccer. I met some great folks from other teams, and we even swapped some stories and tips. It was cool to see so many different teams and playing styles.
The Takeaway
All in all, the iSE Memorial Day Tournament was an awesome experience. It was a tough competition, but it was also a lot of fun. We learned a lot, we grew as a team, and we made some great memories. I’d definitely go back next year, maybe even try to hit up their Columbus Cup in October. If you’re looking for a top-notch soccer tournament, this is the one to check out. You won’t be disappointed!
