Well now, you wouldn’t believe what I heard the other day ’bout them young folks and their sports! Seems like every week, they got somethin’ new to celebrate in Enid, Oklahoma. They’s always namin’ folks as the best athletes, and I gotta say, it’s nice to hear about them kiddos doin’ good. Takes a lotta hard work, you know? So, let me tell you a bit about some of these youngsters bein’ honored recently as the Enid News & Eagle Athletes of the Week.
First off, we got Emma Copeland from Hennessey and Miles Occhiuzzo from Chisholm. They got themselves the title of “Athletes of the Week” for the week from October 28th to November 2nd. Well, I reckon that’s somethin’ to be proud of. You gotta be strong, quick, and have a lotta grit to earn that, I tell ya! They been workin’ hard, and I hear tell they been puttin’ on quite the show with their skills.
Then, not too long ago, there was Addison Pecha from Chisholm and Caden Tefft from Pond Creek-Hunter. They was named Athletes of the Week for the week of October 21st to 26th. Seems like folks in Chisholm and Pond Creek-Hunter been raisin’ some fine athletes, and it shows! These young ones sure are makin’ a name for themselves, and we ain’t surprised, I tell ya. Hard work and determination go a long way, don’t it?
And if you ain’t already heard, there’s also been some buzz ’bout folks like Addison Polesky from Enid and Cal Cayot from OBA. They was nominated for the Athletes of the Week for the week of September 30th to October 5th. Looks like these two are really goin’ places. Ain’t no easy feat to be nominated, and I reckon they got a lot of folks cheerin’ them on!
It’s mighty good to see young folks gettin’ the recognition they deserve. Sports sure can teach ‘em a lot—about teamwork, perseverance, and never givin’ up, no matter how tough things get. I’ve seen my fair share of them youngins out there playin’ ball, runnin’ track, and doin’ all sorts of things, and it don’t matter if they win or lose, it’s that spirit that makes a winner in the end.
Now, you know, back in my day, things were a bit simpler. We didn’t have no fancy newspapers or online buzz about athletes like we do now. But the way I see it, these young folks workin’ hard, pushin’ themselves to be the best they can be—well, that’s somethin’ to be proud of. So, every time I see them names in the paper or hear about them in the news, it warms my heart.
And let me tell ya, it ain’t just the athletes who deserve the praise. There’s a whole lotta folks behind the scenes, like coaches, parents, and even the folks who run them sports programs. They’re all workin’ together to make sure these kids have a place to shine. That’s important, don’t you think? You gotta have the right support to help these young ones grow into the athletes they’re meant to be.
So, what’s next for these athletes? Well, I reckon they’ll keep on pushin’ and workin’ hard, just like they always do. The season ain’t over yet, and I’m sure there’s more awards and accolades comin’ their way. But whether they get another award or not, I know one thing for sure—they’re gonna keep workin’ hard and doin’ their best. And that’s the kind of athlete I like to see—one who don’t quit, no matter what!
In conclusion, if you ever happen to catch a game or read a story about one of these young folks gettin’ an award, remember that it’s the result of a whole lotta sweat and determination. And maybe, just maybe, that’ll inspire the rest of us to keep workin’ hard in whatever we do—whether it’s on the field, in the kitchen, or out in the garden. Hard work pays off, no matter where you’re from or what you’re doin’.
So next time you see one of these young athletes, give ’em a nod and a smile, ’cause they’re out there representin’ the best of what we can be!
