Okay, so I’ve been messing around with DraftKings for a while, and today I wanted to really nail down a solid NFL lineup. Here’s how it went down.
First off, I grabbed my laptop and kicked things off by checking out some projections. I heard that DailyRoto has some pretty good ones. It’s a start, right? The goal here is to figure out which players are gonna pop off this weekend.
Then I jumped onto Fantasy Cruncher. This site is super easy to use, seriously. But, I needed those projections from DailyRoto to make the most of it. I started plugging in different players, looking at their projected points and ownership percentages. It’s kinda like a puzzle, trying to find the right pieces that fit.
I figured I should probably make a few different lineups. I mean, it’s a gamble, so why not spread it out a bit? I tried out a bunch of different combos, mixing and matching players to see what looked good.

I decided to focus on 50/50 contests, also called “Double Ups”. I heard these give you the best chance of winning something. If you land in the top 45% of the field, you double your money. Sounds pretty good, right?
While doing some digging, I read about a guy named Jimmie Kaylor who shared his Wild Card Weekend picks, sleepers, and stuff. I figured I’d check out his advice. I also noticed that Justin Herbert was going for $6. I made a mental note of that, thinking he might be a good pick.
I saw that the playoffs are starting, with two games kicking off on Saturday. More games, more chances to win, I guess. I also noticed that DraftKings is based in Boston. Cool, I guess.
Here’s what I did:
- Used DailyRoto for player projections.
- Played around with Fantasy Cruncher to build lineups.
- Created multiple lineups to increase my odds.
- Focused on 50/50 contests for better win chances.
- Considered some expert picks and player values.
At the end of the day, I’ve got a few lineups I feel pretty okay about. It was a bit of a grind, ngl, but hey, that’s part of the fun. Now it’s just a waiting game to see how my picks do. Wish me luck!
