Alright, so you wanna know about this Donte Lewis fella and his baseball, huh? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know, the way I know how to tell it. Don’t expect no fancy words from me, I’m just a plain talkin’ person.
First off, they say this boy, Donte, he can play all over the place. Second base, third base, even pitchin’! He’s like one of them Swiss Army knives, you know? Handy for whatever you need. Bats righty, throws righty, stands about six foot tall, they say. Big enough boy, I reckon.
Now, I heard tell he went to Kansas State University. That’s a big school, ain’t it? Must be smart, that boy. But before that, he was at St. Thomas High School. Don’t know where that is, but sounds fancy enough. They also talkin’ ’bout Texas, so maybe he moved around some. Young folks do that these days, always gallivantin’ around.
- He’s a “two-way prospect,” they call it. Means he’s good at hittin’ and pitchin’. Like I said, handy.
- They say he hit a double and got one of them “RBI” things. Means he knocked a fella in, I guess. Good for him!
- And that pitchin’ of his? Fast! Ninety-three miles per hour, they say. That’s faster than my old man’s pickup truck, I tell ya! He throws hard, real hard. And he’s got other pitches too, some fancy curveball and a change-up. Sounds like he knows what he’s doin’ out there on that mound.
They say he’s got “untapped potential.” That means he’s good now, but he could be even better. Like a green tomato, still gotta ripen up a bit. And they say he’s “confident.” That’s good, you gotta be confident in this world, or you’ll get eaten alive.

I heard some folks callin’ him the “best uncommitted 2024 in the country.” Now, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that “uncommitted” business, but it sounds important. Means all the big baseball teams are probably lookin’ at him, wantin’ him to play for them. He must be somethin’ special, this Donte fella.
He played for some team called Marucci Elite Texas 2024 Dunn. Sounds like a bunch of fancy pants, but hey, if they can play ball, who am I to judge? And he’s a young’un, just a freshman in college now, at Kansas State. They call him a “UTL,” which I guess means he plays all over. Like I said, handy!
They also said he’s 18 years and 8 months old, and about 155 pounds when he was in high school. Now he’s 185 pounds, so he put on some muscle. Growing boy, needs his strength for hittin’ them balls and throwin’ them fast pitches. This boy sounds like a real go-getter.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about Donte Lewis and his baseball. He’s a young fella, plays all over the field, hits hard, throws hard, and got a whole lot of folks talkin’ about him. Sounds like he’s got a bright future ahead of him, if he keeps his nose clean and keeps workin’ hard. That’s what I always say, hard work and a little bit of luck, and you can do just about anything. Now, you go on and tell your friends all about this Donte Lewis, the baseball whiz.
