So, I saw this thing online about the Gulf Coast Fall Classic, and I was like, “Hey, that sounds like a blast!” I mean, who doesn’t love a good fall festival, right? Especially down on the Gulf Coast, where the weather is still pretty sweet in the fall.
I decided to pack up the family and head down there for a weekend. We drove down on a Friday, and man, the traffic was a beast. But we finally made it and checked into our hotel. The kids were super excited, bouncing off the walls and ready to hit the beach.
The next morning, we woke up bright and early and headed straight to the soccer fields. They had games going on all day, all ages, all skill levels. It was pretty cool to see so many people out there having fun and competing. My kids aren’t really into soccer, but they still enjoyed watching the games and running around.
We spent most of the day at the fields, just soaking up the sun and the atmosphere. They had all sorts of food trucks there, so we grabbed some grub and had a little picnic. The food was pretty standard festival fare, but hey, it hit the spot.

- Strolled around to check out the different vendors.
- Found some cool local crafts and souvenirs.
- The kids got their faces painted – you know, the usual festival stuff.
In the evening, we decided to check out some of the other events going on. They had some live music, which was pretty decent. We danced a bit, but let’s be real, my dance moves are, well, questionable. The kids loved it, though.
That Night,
we were all pretty wiped out, so we headed back to the hotel and crashed. We woke up on Sunday and did a bit more exploring. Found a nice little seafood joint and had some fresh-off-the-boat shrimp. It was delicious!
After lunch, we packed up and started the long drive home. The kids were knocked out in the back, probably dreaming of face paint and soccer balls. All in all, it was a pretty great weekend. We made some good memories, and I’d definitely recommend checking out the Gulf Coast Fall Classic if you’re looking for something fun to do with the family.
It is good to get updates from your mobile device. That is convenient.
