Well now, let me tell ya ’bout this here Disney Memorial Day Tournament, sounds fancy, huh? It’s some kinda big deal soccer thing they have down in Florida, at that Walt Disney World place. You know, where Mickey Mouse lives.
This thing happens durin’ Memorial Day weekend, that’s the end of May, when it starts gettin’ real hot. They say it’s for them “youth soccer players,” that’s just kids kickin’ a ball around, far as I can tell.
They say it’s the “ultimate travel soccer experience.” I reckon that means lots of folks comin’ from all over to play. Sounds like a big to-do, with lots of runnin’ and yellin’. Kids these days, got so much energy.
- They got all sorts of age groups, so even the little tykes can play, I guess.
- And it ain’t just about the soccer, they say there’s other stuff to do too. “Off-field experiences,” they call it. Probably means ridin’ rides and eatin’ cotton candy, if you ask me.
Now, they sent me some papers with all the fancy words, talkin’ ’bout “affiliated organizations” and “rules and regulations.” I ain’t got time for all that mumbo jumbo. All I know is, it’s a soccer game for kids, and it’s a big one.
They have a whole bunch of games, I hear. Teams comin’ from all over, maybe even other countries, for all I know. They play and play, tryin’ to win some kinda trophy or somethin’. It’s serious business for these young’uns, and their folks too, I bet.
They say the competition is somethin’ else. That means they’re all tryin’ real hard, I guess. Runnin’ and kickin’, and probably fallin’ down a lot too. Kids will be kids, you know?
This Disney place, it seems like they do a lot of these tournaments. Soccer, basketball, who knows what else. They got all that space, might as well use it for somethin’. Keeps the kids busy, that’s for sure.
This particular one, the Memorial Day one, it’s a big one, like I said. Lots of folks comin’, lots of games bein’ played. And it’s all happenin’ at Disney World, where the magic happens, or so they say.
I reckon it’s a good way to kick off the summer. Get the kids outside, runnin’ around, before it gets too hot to even breathe. And the parents, well, they get to watch and cheer, or maybe just sit in the shade and drink lemonade. That’s what I’d do.
They got all this information on some website, I hear. But I ain’t got no computer, so I can’t tell ya much about that. They got schedules and rules and all sorts of things. If you’re plannin’ on goin’, you might wanna look it up.
But from what I gather, it’s a big soccer tournament for kids, happenin’ at Disney World on Memorial Day weekend. Lots of games, lots of fun, and lots of tired kids and parents by the end of it all. Sounds like a hoot, if you ask me.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do that weekend, and you like soccer, or you got kids who like soccer, then maybe you should check out this Disney Memorial Day Tournament. Just be prepared for the crowds and the heat. And maybe bring an extra pair of shoes, for all that runnin’ around.
And don’t forget the sunscreen! You don’t wanna get burned like a lobster, especially down in Florida. They got that sun down there, it’ll fry ya good if you ain’t careful.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about this here tournament. Sounds like fun, but I think I’ll stick to sittin’ on my porch and watchin’ the birds. Less runnin’ that way.
