Okay, so today I wanted to figure out the time difference between Colombia and the USA. Let me tell you, it wasn’t as simple as I thought!
First, I grabbed my phone and opened up the browser. I typed in something like “current time in Colombia” and hit enter. Loads of websites popped up, but I just picked the first one that looked legit.
Then, I scrolled through a bunch of info about time zones and daylight saving and whatnot. Honestly, it was a bit confusing. But I finally found a section that compared the time in Colombia to different parts of the US. Turns out, it depends on whether it’s Eastern Time, Central Time, and so on.
Next, I checked out another website. This one was all about soccer, which is a big deal in both countries, I guess. I noticed they were talking about a match between Colombia and Ecuador. The site mentioned the game would be at some stadium in Barranquilla, Colombia. That didn’t really help with the time difference, but it was kind of interesting.

- Looked at a third site. This one was focused on how to watch USA vs. Colombia games on TV or online, especially for some upcoming tournament called the Copa America.
- Realized that this was more about watching games live than figuring out the general time difference.
Finally Got It
After jumping around a few more sites, I finally pieced it together. During part of the year, Colombia is on the same time as the US East Coast. But when the US switches to daylight saving time, Colombia is an hour behind. For other parts of the US, you just gotta add or subtract more hours. Phew, that took some work!
I jotted down some notes on a piece of paper, so I wouldn’t forget. Maybe next time I’ll just use one of those time zone converter apps. It might be easier than this whole mess. But hey, at least now I know how to figure out what time it is in Colombia!
