Okay, guys, let’s talk about the ACC Golf Championship 2024 leaderboard. I’ve been following this tournament closely, and I gotta say, it’s been a wild ride.
First off, I started by checking out the dates and location. I found out that the American Century Championship is set to take place from July 12-14, 2024, at Edgewood Tahoe South. The course is a par 72, and that’s about all the details I got on the yardage, haha.
Getting into the Action
Next, I dug into how the scoring works. They use this Modified Stableford format, which is a bit different from what I’m used to. Basically, you get 10 points for a double eagle, 8 for a hole-in-one, 3 for a birdie, 1 for par, 0 for a bogey, and you lose 2 points for a double bogey or worse. It’s a system that really rewards aggressive play, which makes things interesting!
I learned that the total purse for the tournament is $750,000, with the winner taking home $150,000. Not too shabby, right?

Following the Leaderboard
Now, onto the leaderboard itself. I saw that Boston College was making a move, climbing up to ninth place after the second round. This info came from somewhere in Wilmington, so I guess that’s where the round was played.
From what I gathered, a guy named Michael Brennan, a senior, shot a 5-under 66, which really helped his team out. Good for him!
I also looked at the results from a previous tournament or maybe an earlier round. Joe Pavelski was on fire, finishing second with 79 points. Annika Sorenstam, a legend, came in third with 68 points, and John Smoltz was right behind her with 64. These folks were really raking in the points under that Modified Stableford system.
My Takeaways
After gathering all this information, here’s what I think. The ACC Golf Championship is a pretty big deal, with some serious money on the line. The scoring format encourages players to go for it, which leads to some exciting moments. It’s cool to see both current college players like Michael Brennan and established pros like Annika Sorenstam competing at a high level.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on how things progress in July. It should be a fun tournament to watch! I might even try to predict the winner based on how things are shaping up. It’s always fun to make some guesses and see if they pan out.
- Stay tuned for more updates, folks!
