Hey there, y’all! Let’s jaw about somethin’ I saw on that there inter-web thingy – you know, the one the young’uns are always fiddlin’ with? It’s about them referee jerseys, the ones them fellas wear when they’re runnin’ up and down the court durin’ them basketball games. You know, the NBA ones.
Now, I ain’t no expert on basketball, mind you. I reckon I know more about chickens and corn than I do about dribblin’ and dunkin’. But I saw some pictures of these jerseys, and let me tell ya, they look right… official-like. They got stripes and panels and all sorts of fancy stitchin’. Some of ’em even got zippers!
I saw one place sellin’ ’em, callin’ ’em “official’s choice.” Well, I guess if you’re gonna be blowin’ that whistle and makin’ them calls, you gotta look the part, right? They had all sorts of names for ’em, too. “Pro-style,” they called some. Sounded right important. And they weren’t cheap neither, some of ’em. But then again, I reckon good stuff costs a pretty penny.
One fella was sellin’ a whole set – a shirt, a warm-up jacket, and even a whistle! Now, I ain’t sure what I’d do with a whistle, but it looked like a good deal, I guess. Another place was havin’ a sale, knockin’ off the prices somethin’ fierce. Up to 90% off, they said! That’s a lot of money saved, even for an old gal like me who pinches every penny.
- Types of Jerseys: Seen some with stripes down the side, others with panels. Some got zippers, some don’t. Seems like there’s all sorts to choose from.
- Where to Buy: Lots of places sellin’ ’em online. Scoresports, Officials Depot… names like that. Even saw some on that eBay thing, used and new.
- Prices: Prices all over the place. Some cheap, some not so cheap. Guess it depends on the quality and where you buy it. Sales are good, though. That 90% off sounds mighty fine.
They got different colors too, mostly grey, but some with black panels. And they come in different sizes, from small to big enough to fit a… well, a pretty big fella. I even saw some jerseys made special for women referees. Good for them, I say! Everybody should have a chance to blow that whistle if they want to.
They talked about “mesh” jerseys, too. Said it keeps you cool. I reckon that’s important when you’re runnin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off, tryin’ to keep up with them fast-movin’ basketball players. And they gotta be comfortable, too. Can’t be makin’ bad calls just ’cause your shirt’s scratchy, now can ya?
I also saw some places sellin’ uniforms for basketball referees. Not just the jerseys, but the whole shebang. Pants, jackets, the whole nine yards. Guess if you’re serious about bein’ a ref, you gotta look the part from head to toe. And it ain’t just for men, neither. They got uniforms for women referees, too. That’s right fair, I think.
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of jabber about referee jerseys. Who knew there was so much to know about a shirt? But I reckon it’s important to them folks who wear ’em. They gotta look good and feel good while they’re out there makin’ sure them basketball games are played fair and square. And if you’re lookin’ to buy one, well, there’s plenty of places sellin’ ’em. Just be sure to shop around and find a good deal. And maybe, just maybe, don’t go blowin’ that whistle in my ear unless you’re callin’ a foul on a chicken for stealin’ corn!
