Alright, so you wanna know about them baseball hip hop songs, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a whole thing now. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy music at the ball games. Just the organ and maybe some peanuts crackin’. But times, they change, I guess.
Now these young fellas, they like to strut up to the plate with some thump-thump-thump music. They call it “walk-up music” or some such thing. It’s supposed to get ’em all fired up, ready to smack that ball outta the park. And the pitchers, they got their own tunes too, when they march out to the mound. Keeps ’em in the zone, or so they say.
I heard on the radio, or maybe it was the TV, that lots of these songs are that hip hop stuff. You know, the kind with the fast talkin’ and the beats that make your teeth rattle? Yep, that’s the one. Seems like everyone’s listenin’ to it these days, even at the baseball game.
I ain’t no expert, mind you. But from what I gather, some of them songs are real popular. Like, they play ’em all over the place, on the radio, on them computermabobs, everywhere. And the baseball players, they pick the ones they like best, the ones that make ’em feel like they can hit a home run every time.

- There’s this one song, somethin’ about “hypnotizin’” folks. Real catchy, even for an old gal like me. The youngins say it’s a classic, from way back when. Must be good if it’s still around after all these years.
- And then there’s a whole bunch of other ones. Songs about battin’ and pitchin’ and winnin’. Some are clean, some are…well, let’s just say they ain’t for Sunday school. But the players, they love ’em. Gets them in the mood, gets the crowd pumped.
I seen some list online, or maybe my grandson showed me, with all sorts of songs. Some were old, some were new, some I never even heard of before. They had all kinds of music, not just that hip hop stuff. But the hip hop ones, they seemed to be the most popular. Especially with the young fellas.
It ain’t just about the players, though. The fans, they like the music too. It gets ’em all riled up, cheerin’ and clappin’. Makes the game more excitin’, I guess. And it gives ’em somethin’ to tap their feet to while they’re waitin’ for the next batter to come up.
They even got these lists, you know, like on that Spotify thingamajig. They put all the most popular songs on there, so everyone can listen to ’em. And they got clean ones too, for the kids and folks like me who don’t like all that cussin’ and such. It’s all about keeping folks happy and spending money on the game, isn’t it?
Heck, I even heard they got songs from the 70’s and 80’s bein’ used at games now, not just that hippity hop stuff. AC/DC or somethin’. The kids go wild for everything really, long as it has a beat.
Choosing the right song is a big deal, ya know? It gotta fit the player, gotta get the crowd goin’. It’s like findin’ the right pair of shoes, gotta be comfortable but still look good. The players, they spend a lot of time thinkin’ about it, tryin’ to find the perfect tune.
So, yeah, that’s the lowdown on them baseball hip hop songs. It’s a whole new world out there, with music everywhere you go. Even at the ball game. And while I still miss the good ol’ days with the organ and the peanuts, I reckon this ain’t so bad either. Keeps things lively, that’s for sure.
And they change the songs every year, I hear, add new ones to the list. So this year’s hits might be old news next year. Keeps the young people engaged I guess. More songs, more games, more money, that’s how it works now.
At the end of the day, it’s about havin’ fun and enjoyin’ the game. And if a little bit of that hip hop music helps the players hit the ball harder and the fans cheer louder, well, then I guess it’s alright by me.
