Alright, so I wanted to get into betting on the WNBA, specifically player props. I’ve heard it’s a good time, and you can make some decent money if you know what you’re doing. So, I figured I’d give it a shot and document the whole thing.
First, I started looking around for some info. I saw that a player named Marina Mabrey has been killing it lately, scoring 15+ points in most of her recent games. Plus, she had a game coming up against the Mercury, which seemed like a good matchup for her. That got me interested, so I decided to dig a little deeper into this whole player prop thing.
I checked out a bunch of different betting sites. Places like BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings all seemed pretty legit. They had a ton of different bets you could make, and their apps were easy to use. Seemed like these were the places to be for WNBA prop betting.
My Process:

- Research: I spent a good chunk of time looking at recent game stats, player performance, and upcoming matchups. This Mabrey girl seemed like a solid pick based on what I found.
- Choose a Site: After comparing a few, I went with FanDuel. Their app was smooth, and they had a good variety of prop bets.
- Place the Bet: I found the prop bet for Marina Mabrey to score over a certain number of points. The odds looked good, so I put some money on it. This was my first time, so I didn’t go crazy, just a small bet to get my feet wet.
- Watch the Game: This was the fun part. I tuned into the game and kept an eye on Mabrey’s performance. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but exciting at the same time.
She did it! Mabrey scored enough points to win my bet. Beginner’s luck, maybe? But it was a pretty cool feeling. I had taken an interest, done some research, made an educated guess, and it paid off.
What I Learned:
- Do your homework: Looking at stats and recent performance is key. You can’t just throw your money around blindly and expect to win.
- Pick a good site: There are a lot of betting sites out there, but some are definitely better than others. Ease of use and variety of bets are important.
- Start small: Especially when you’re new, it’s a good idea to start with small bets. Get a feel for how things work before you start risking big money.
This was a fun little experiment. I’m definitely going to keep exploring WNBA player props. It’s a cool way to get more involved in the games, and maybe make a little extra cash along the way. I’ll keep you guys updated on my progress. Maybe next time I’ll try a different player or a different type of prop bet. We’ll see how it goes!
