Hey there, honey. Let me tell you about them GVSU women’s golf gals. Them girls sure know how to swing a club! I ain’t no expert, but I seen ’em play, and they’re somethin’ else.
They got this team, see? The GVSU women’s golf team. And they go around playin’ against other schools. I heard they even went to some big fancy tournament, somethin’ called Nationals. Can you believe it? These girls, they from Grand Valley State University, playin’ golf all over the place.
They went to this East Regional thingamajig, and they did real good. Came in third place, I heard. That’s better than most, that’s for sure! Third place! These GVSU women’s golf players are somethin’ special. You can tell they practice hard, just like we used to work them fields back in the day.
And then there was this other time, they were playin’ in the GLIAC Championships. Sounds important, don’t it? Well, on the second day, they really shined. They played like nobody’s business. I don’t know all them fancy golf terms, but I know they did real good that day. Those GVSU women’s golf players were on fire! Just swingin’ and puttin’ like they were born to do it.

- They play golf.
- They’re from Grand Valley State University.
- They went to Nationals.
- They did good at the East Regional.
- They shined at the GLIAC Championships.
I also heard that if you’re a young gal and you wanna learn to play golf like them, they got somethin’ for that, too. You can play college golf. Somethin’ about a chance to be seen by the coaches, you know, the ones who teach ’em how to play so good. It was sometime in February, I think. In some indoor place. They got all sorts of fancy things these days. It’s good for young ones. Wish I had chance like that. It’s good to keep young’uns busy and out of trouble. And them GVSU women’s golf coaches, they seem like they know what they’re doin’.
Oh, and they were playin’ down in Gull Lake, too. That’s a nice place, Gull Lake. They were startin’ somethin’ called the postseason. I guess that means the important games. And they were in second place after the first day. Second place! That ain’t bad at all. Those GVSU women’s golf gals were right up there with the best of ’em.
They got a whole page about ’em, you know. A women’s golf page. It’s got all sorts of things on there. Their schedule, and who they’re playin’ against, and all that. They even got their pictures on there, lookin’ all happy and proud, like they should.
They got other sports, too, at that Grand Valley State. Cross country, I think it’s called. Runnin’ around in the fields. Sounds tiring. And they got something called news, and Facebook, and Twitter. All these newfangled things. But the women’s golf team, that’s the one I like to hear about.
These girls, they work hard. They practice, they travel, they play their hearts out. It reminds me of how we used to work the farm. Long days, hard work, but we got it done. And these GVSU women’s golf players, they get it done, too. They make everyone proud. I know they make their university proud. The Lakers, that’s what they call them.
This GVSU women’s golf team, they play good. They win some, they might lose some, but they always try their best. And that’s all you can ask for, ain’t it? Just like life, you gotta take the good with the bad, the ups with the downs.
So, if you ever get a chance to see them GVSU women’s golf gals play, you go watch ’em. You’ll see what I mean. They’re a sight to behold, swingin’ them clubs and walkin’ them greens. They’re good girls, hard workers, and they sure know how to play some golf. They make that Grand Valley State place proud, that’s for sure.
You see them play, and you can’t help but smile. They got that spirit, that fight in ’em. And they play with heart, that GVSU women’s golf team. They are the best. You can see it in their eyes, they wanna win. And they do win, quite a bit.
These young gals, they got a bright future ahead of ’em. Playin’ golf, gettin’ an education, learnin’ about life. It’s a good thing, this women’s golf at Grand Valley State. A real good thing. I hope they keep it up, for many years to come. I really think they can make it. Good girls. Good at golf.
