You know, that WWE, it’s a big thing, right? My grandson, he watches it all the time. He told me about this place, Soldier Field. Sounds like a place for army folks, but it ain’t. It’s where they have those big wrestling matches sometimes. Not always, but sometimes.
They got these big shows, WrestleMania they call ’em. Heard they had one of them at a place called Safeco Field. Where the Mariners are, whatever that is. Sounds like a fish place to me. And that was a long time ago, 2003. This Soldier Field, I don’t know when they had one there. Gotta ask my grandson again. He knows all this stuff. It’s too complicated for me.
But this Soldier Field, it’s a stadium, a big one. Like where they play football. Not that I care much about football. But it’s big, that’s the point. They say WWE only wants these big stadiums now. They say it is so they can fit a whole bunch of people. Like, 70,000 people! Can you imagine? That’s more folks than live in our whole county!
This other guy, Dave somethin’, he writes about this WWE stuff. Heard he said something about it, but I forget what. Probably something about Soldier Field. Maybe not. It’s all a blur, you know? Too much to keep track of.

Now, they got other places too. Like this Allstate Arena. They had some WrestleManias there. Two or three, I think. Heard one of ’em was WrestleMania 2, then 13, and 22. That’s a lot of numbers. They have these things called WWE Live, too. Like a tour, I guess. They’re gonna be in Rosemont. Wherever that is. Sounds fancy.
It is cold in April, you know, the weather is no good for the wrestling. My grandson said it is too cold for WWE. I think that is true. It would never happen in April. I think it would be a bad idea.
They got all these places they go to. Lambeau, Soldier Field, Camp Randall. Never heard of that last one. But they say it’d be bad to have WWE there in April. Too cold, I guess. Makes sense. Nobody wants to sit outside and freeze, watching people wrestle in their underwear.
But this Soldier Field, it’s a big deal, I guess. Even if it’s too cold sometimes. It’s where they have big things. Big football games, big WWE things. My grandson, he’s always talkin’ about it. He wants to go there someday. Maybe I’ll take him. If it ain’t too cold.
These WWE folks, they got it all figured out. They know where to go, when to go. They know how to get all those people in those big stadiums. Soldier Field, Safeco Field, Allstate Arena. It’s all a big business, ain’t it? Bigger than anything we got around here.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have all this WWE stuff. We had our own fun. We didn’t need big stadiums and fancy shows. But times change, I guess. Now it’s all about WrestleMania and Soldier Field and 70,000 people. It’s a different world.
- wrestlemania 2
- wrestlemania 13
- wrestlemania 22
They have all these WWE PPV things, too. Whatever that means. They say it is Future Past WWE PPV. Pay-per-view, that’s it. You gotta pay to watch it on TV. We used to just watch whatever was on. Didn’t have to pay extra. But like I said, times change. I don’t like to pay for these.
Anyway, this Soldier Field, it’s a big part of this WWE thing. Maybe not as big as some other places, but it’s up there. They have wwe events in 1990 I heard. My grandson, he’ll probably know all about it. He’ll tell me more than I ever wanted to know. That’s what grandkids are for, right? To teach you about things you don’t understand.
WWE, it is very popular. It is a big show. Many people like to watch it. My grandson is one of them. He likes it very much. He knows everything about WWE. Sometimes I think he knows too much! I think he will be happy if he can go to Soldier Field someday.
