Alright, let’s talk about this WNBA live stuff, you know, the basketball games the gals play. I hear folks are always yappin’ about watchin’ them, so I figured I’d try and make some sense of it all.
Now, they tell me there’s this thing called “ESPN” where you can see these games. Sounds fancy, but I reckon it’s just one of them TV channels. They say it’s got the “latest” on the WNBA. Don’t know what that means exactly, but I guess it means the games are on there. They were talkin’ about some gal named Brittney Griner. Heard she had some trouble, but now she’s playin’ ball again. Good for her, I say.
So, if you wanna watch these WNBA games live, you gotta figure out how to get this ESPN. Folks keep mentionin’ these “streaming services.” Sounds complicated, but I think it just means watchin’ TV on your computer or phone. They got this “Prime Video” thing, cost ya almost 15 dollars a month. That’s a lot of money, if you ask me. But they say it’s got the games.
Then there’s this “YouTube TV.” Heard you can try it for free, then they start chargin’ you if you don’t quit. Sneaky, ain’t it? They say it’s got all them big channels: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC. I used to watch my stories on them channels, now they got basketball too.

Watchin’ WNBA Games Without Cable
Now, a lot of folks don’t have that cable stuff anymore. Too expensive, they say. So, how do you watch the WNBA games then? Well, there are a few ways, it seems. These streaming services, they got free trials. Like this “DirecTV Stream,” you can watch it for five days for free. Then there’s “Hulu + Live TV” and “Fubo.” They also got free trials, they say. You can watch that ESPN2 channel for free, and that’s where the games are, I guess.
- DirecTV Stream: Five-day free trial.
- Hulu + Live TV: Free trial, also has ESPN+ and Disney+. Don’t know what them pluses are, but sounds like more stuff.
- Fubo: Another one with a free trial.
They say Hulu with Live TV lets you watch games on ESPN and ABC. And you get that ESPN+ thing too, whatever that is. And Disney+? For them cartoons and such? Sounds like a lot of stuff for your money, but I’d be careful. They get you hooked with that free trial, then they start chargin’.
WNBA Finals Was a Big Deal
Heard that the WNBA Finals, that’s like the big championship game, was a real hit this year. They said more folks watched it than they have in 25 years! Averaged 1.6 million viewers, they said. That’s a whole lotta people watchin’ basketball. Every game had over a million folks watchin’. They called it the “WNBA Finals Presented by YouTube TV.” Guess YouTube paid a lot of money for that.
So, if you wanna watch these WNBA games, you got options. You can pay for cable or try one of them streaming services with the free trials. Just remember to cancel if you don’t wanna pay, or they’ll get you for sure. And they say the games are good, these gals are talented. Maybe I’ll even try and watch one myself, see what all the fuss is about. But I ain’t payin’ no 15 dollars a month! That’s for sure. I’ll stick with that free trial, thank you very much.
I heard some folks sayin’ if you just wanna see a little bit, you can catch some highlights on social media, or them news websites. Just short little bits, not the whole game, but you get the idea. Seems like everyone wants a piece of this WNBA pie these days. Well, as long as it ain’t costin’ me an arm and a leg, I might take a nibble. But that Brittney Griner, she sure can play, that I know. Heard them announcers hollerin’ her name a time or two.
Anyway, that’s what I know about watchin’ this WNBA live. Hope it helps ya figure it out. Now, where did I put my glasses? I gotta go check the price of them tomatoes at the store…they always tryin’ to cheat us old folks, you know.
