Alright, let’s talk about this Andreas Alvarez fella, the baseball player. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just tellin’ it like I see it. He plays this baseball thing, you know, the one with the stick and the ball. Seems like he’s been at it for a while now.
This Andreas, where’s he from anyway?
Now, I heard tell he comes from a place called Chula Vista. Don’t know where that is, sounds fancy though. Born way back in 1997, March 29th to be exact. That makes him… well, old enough to be swingin’ that bat, that’s for sure. Then there’s talk of another Andreas Alvarez, born in 2004. Maybe they’re related? Maybe it’s the same fella and them dates are all messed up. These city folk and their record keepin’, always confusin’ a simple woman like me.
What kinda positions does he play?

- Shortstop
- Third Baseman
- Second Baseman
See, I told ya, he knows his way around that field. He ain’t just standin’ there like a bump on a log. He’s movin’ and shakin’, catchin’ balls and throwin’ ‘em. Right-handed batter, right-handed thrower, they say. Sounds like he’s got it figured out.
How big is he, you ask?
Well, one place says he’s 5 foot 8, weighs about 175 pounds. Another says he’s 5 foot 11 and 180 pounds. He ain’t no giant, that’s for sure, but he’s sturdy enough, I reckon. Enough to hit that ball a good long ways, or so I hear.
Where does he play this here baseball?
Seems like he’s playin’ for somethin’ called Auburn University. Tigers, they call themselves. Big school, I guess. Lots of folks cheerin’ for ‘em. You can find all sorts of stuff about him on their website, they say. Stats and bio and all that jazz. I wouldn’t know where to start lookin’, myself.
Is he any good?
Well, they wouldn’t be talkin’ about him if he wasn’t, right? They got a whole page dedicated to him, stats and all. Batting averages, home runs, RBIs… all them fancy numbers. Means he’s hittin’ the ball and gettin’ folks home, I guess. That’s the point of the game, ain’t it?
What else is there to say?
Not much, I reckon. He’s a baseball player, plays for Auburn, seems to be pretty good at it. They got all sorts of information about him online, if you’re into that kinda thing. Me? I’m just happy to hear about a young fella doin’ well. Workin’ hard, playin’ hard, that’s the way to do it, I always say.
Andreas Alvarez, the baseball player. Remember that name. Maybe he’ll be famous someday. Maybe he’ll hit a home run that wins the whole shebang. Who knows? That’s the beauty of baseball, ain’t it? Anything can happen.
So, there you have it. Everything I know about Andreas Alvarez, the baseball player. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They’re more predictable than this baseball business.
One more thing. They call baseball America’s pastime. I guess that means a lot of folks like it. Maybe I should watch a game sometime. See what all the fuss is about. Maybe this Andreas Alvarez fella will be on TV. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? A small-town boy, or girl, me, watchin’ a Chula Vista boy on the big screen. It’s a small world, ain’t it?
