Alright, let’s gab a bit about these here “2000 Upper Deck Yankees Legends Baseball” cards. Now, I don’t know much about fancy cardboard, but I do know a thing or two about the Yankees. My grandpappy used to listen to them on the radio, and that’s good enough for me.
So, these cards, they got pictures of all them Yankee fellas, the real good ones. You know, Ruth, the big fella who hit them balls a country mile. And Lou, that quiet fella who was always steady as a rock. And don’t forget Reggie, always showin’ off but could back it up, that one!
They say there’s a whole bunch of these cards, maybe 90 or so. I seen some folks talkin’ about “graded” cards and “ungraded” cards. Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. A card’s a card, ain’t it? But I guess some folks like to put a price on everything. More power to ’em, I say.
- They got these cards with the players’ faces on ’em, plain as day.
- Some cards got pictures of bats, they call ’em “Legendary Lumber.” Mickey Mantle, that fella had a good piece of wood, I tell ya.
- And then there’s these “rookie cards.” Pictures of the fellas when they was just youngins, I reckon.
Now, where you gonna find these cards? Well, I hear there’s this place called “COMC,” sounds like some fancy city store to me. They say you can buy ’em from all sorts of folks there, get ’em all shipped to you in one go. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

But what’s all this talk about “price guides” and “card values”? Sounds like a bunch of city slickers tryin’ to make a quick buck. Back in my day, you traded cards with your friends, maybe for a piece of candy or somethin’. Now they’re treatin’ these bits of cardboard like they’re gold or somethin’. Times sure do change.
I heard some fella talkin’ about a Mickey Mantle “Legendary Lumber” card, got a fancy “BGS 8.5” on it. Said it was worth somethin’ special. Well, I reckon that’s fine for him. Me, I’d be just as happy with a picture of Yogi Berra, that funny little fella. Always said the darndest things.
So, if you’re lookin’ to collect these 2000 Upper Deck Yankees Legends cards, you go right ahead. Just remember, they’re just pictures on cardboard at the end of the day. Don’t get too caught up in all that city talk about “values” and “grades.” The real value is in rememberin’ them Yankee greats, the fellas who made baseball what it is. That’s what I say, anyways.
And if you do get your hands on some of them cards, take good care of ’em. Don’t let the youngins get their sticky fingers all over ’em. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll be worth somethin’ someday. But even if they ain’t, you’ll still have a little piece of Yankee history in your hands. And that’s somethin’ special, don’t you think?
Don’t go spendin’ your rent money on these cards now, ya hear? There’s more important things in life than bits of cardboard. But if you enjoy ’em, that’s all that matters. And who knows, maybe you’ll even learn a thing or two about them old Yankees along the way.
Anyways, that’s my two cents on these here baseball cards. Take it or leave it, I don’t much care. Just remember to enjoy yourself, and don’t let those city slickers pull the wool over your eyes.
