Alright, so you wanna know about this Lisa Harrison, huh? Let me tell ya, that gal was somethin’ else on the basketball court. Don’t know all them fancy stats and numbers, but I watched her play a few times on the TV. Big ol’ girl, strong as an ox, and could shoot that ball like nobody’s business.

Folks say she was a forward. That means she played… well, kinda all over the place, near that hoop. Grabbing rebounds, they call it. And shootin’ too, of course. I remember one time, she scored a whole bunch of points in one game. 22, I think it was. Against Seattle, those city slickers. Showed ’em what for, she did.
She was a righty, shot with her right hand. And tall, real tall. They say six-foot-one. I ain’t met her myself, but that’s what they say. And strong, too. 164 pounds, or somethin’ like that. Muscles like a farmhand, she had. But she moved smooth, like a dancer almost, when she was on that court.

And points… she scored a lot of them. Don’t remember the exact numbers, but they say she averaged somethin’ like 6.9 points a game. And rebounds too, almost four a game. And assists, whatever them are. She did it all, that girl. A real all-rounder, they call it.
She played for other teams too, before the Mercury. Columbus Quest, I think they were called. And probably some others, I don’t rightly know. But it was with Phoenix that I saw her play most. Always on the TV, that bright orange jersey, runnin’ up and down the court. She was somethin’ special, I tell ya.
Remembering Lisa Harrison
Now, I don’t know what she’s up to these days. Probably retired, I reckon. Basketball players don’t last forever, ya know. But I still remember her, clear as day. That fierce look in her eyes, the way she’d drive to the basket, the swish of the net when she made a shot. She was a good player, that Lisa Harrison. One of the best, in my book.
