Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about these basketball fellas, the ones wearing them Adidas shoes. You know, the shoes with the stripes? Yeah, them ones.
Adidas and the NBA Guys
I heard tell, once upon a time, Adidas, they had a whole heap of NBA players wearin’ their stuff. Like, eighty of ’em! Can you believe that? Eighty! That’s a whole lotta feet, I tell ya. Eighty fellas runnin’ and jumpin’ in them three-stripe shoes. Must’ve been a sight to see.
Now, I ain’t no expert on this basketball stuff, but I do know a thing or two about shoes. And Adidas, well, they been around a good long while. My grandpappy used to wear shoes kinda like that, but his didn’t have all them fancy colors. These young fellas, they like their shoes bright and shiny, like a new penny.

- Lots of players, that’s for sure
- Eighty, that’s what I heard someone say.
- Shoes with stripes, everybody knows.
LeBron James… Wait, He Ain’t Adidas?
Now, this fella LeBron James, he’s a big deal, everyone knows that. He’s got his own shoes and everything. But, hold on a minute, somebody told me his shoes ain’t Adidas. They Nike shoes! Can you believe that? A big star like him, and he ain’t wearin’ the stripes? Well, I guess that’s just how it is. He went with that Nike swoosh thingy instead.
I reckon Adidas, they got plenty of other fellas wearin’ their shoes, though. They ain’t puttin’ all their eggs in one basket, as they say. Smart, them Adidas folks. Gotta spread your bets, you know? That’s what my old man used to say about plantin’ crops: don’t put all your seeds in one field, in case a storm comes through and ruins it all.
Damian Lillard: He’s an Adidas Man, I Hear
Then there’s this other fella, Damian Lillard. He plays for the Portland Trail Blazers. He’s a point guard, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, I guess. But the important thing is, he wears Adidas! Yep, he’s one of them stripe-wearin’ fellas. He’s got his own shoes, too, with Adidas. I saw ’em in the store the other day. They were kinda flashy, but I guess that’s what the young folks like these days.
More Than Just Shoes
It ain’t just about the shoes, though. These fellas, they get paid a whole lot of money to wear them Adidas shoes. And they gotta do commercials and stuff, too. Talkin’ about how great the shoes are, how they help ’em jump higher and run faster. I don’t know about all that, but I reckon if they’re payin’ that much money, the shoes must be pretty good.
It’s A Big Business
It’s a whole big business, this basketball shoe thing. Millions and millions of dollars changin’ hands. And these companies, like Adidas and Nike, they fightin’ over these players, tryin’ to get ’em to wear their shoes. It’s like a rooster fight, but with shoes instead of roosters. And the fellas in the middle, they gettin’ richer and richer.
Good for Them
Well, I say good for ’em. If they can make a livin’ wearin’ shoes and playin’ basketball, then more power to ’em. It ain’t easy work, runnin’ up and down that court all day. And them shoes, they gotta be comfortable, I reckon. Otherwise, them fellas would be complainin’ somethin’ fierce.
So, that’s the story on these Adidas fellas in the NBA. Lots of ’em wearin’ the stripes, some wearin’ other stuff. It’s a big business, and everybody’s makin’ money. And me? I’m just sittin’ here watchin’ it all happen, wearin’ my old comfy shoes that don’t cost an arm and a leg.
But hey, if one of them Adidas fellas wants to give me a pair of them fancy shoes, I wouldn’t say no. Long as they comfortable, that is. Comfort’s the most important thing when it comes to shoes, you ask me.
