Alright, let’s talk about this wrestling stuff, you know, the AEW and WWE thing. Folks keep jabberin’ about ‘em, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, even if it ain’t worth much.
Now, they’re sayin’ these two are the biggest wrestling outfits around, like the cream of the crop. WWE, they been around forever, sellin’ out big places, makin’ a pile of money, I reckon. They got these fellas, big stars, bigger than anyone over at that AEW, so they say. Folks pay good money to see ‘em wrestle, I hear. And then there’s this new bunch, AEW, tryin’ to make a name for themselves. They ain’t as big, but they got some good wrestlers too, or so my grandkids tell me.
People keep askin’, “Hey, are these two gonna do a show together?” Like, have their wrestlers fight each other, all mixed up. A crossover, they call it. Sounds like a fancy word for a big ol’ wrestling party if you ask me. But from what I gather, it ain’t happenin’ anytime soon. These fellas over at WWE, they ain’t sayin’ much, keepin’ mum about the whole thing. And that Tony Khan fella, the boss of AEW, he’s been on the TV and the radio, sayin’ it’s not likely. He keeps talkin’ about other matches they had, nothin’ to do with WWE. Keeps mentionin’ some names, Danielson, MJF, Young Bucks, Omega, Page… sounded like a bunch of farm animals to me at first, hah!
- So, WWE’s doin’ their own thing, sellin’ tickets, makin’ money.
- And AEW, they’re kinda like the new kids on the block, doin’ their own thing too.
- They ain’t fightin’ each other like those fellas back in the day, what was it, the Monday Night War? Nah, this is different. AEW’s just… well, somethin’ else, somethin’ different from WWE.
Now, I remember when things were simpler. You had your good guys, your bad guys, and they’d wrestle. None of this fancy talk about “crossovers” and “promotions.” But times change, I guess. Just like how we got them fancy tractors now instead of ol’ Bess, my mule. She was a good mule, Bess was.

But back to this wrestling. It seems like this crossover idea, it ain’t completely dead, though. Some folks are still hopin’, still dreamin’. They say WWE’s workin’ with other wrestling folks sometimes, like those fellas from Japan, NJPW or somethin’. So maybe, just maybe, one day they’ll work with AEW too. It’s like waitin’ for rain in a drought, you keep hopin’, but you ain’t gonna hold your breath.
SummerSlam and All In, those are the big shows comin’ up. WWE’s got theirs, AEW’s got theirs. Sounds like a busy time for those fellas, flippin’ and floppin’ around in the ring. I tell ya, it’s hard work, even if it looks like playin’ around to some folks. Reminds me of balin’ hay, back-breakin’ work, but you gotta get it done.
So, will they ever have this big wrestling party, this crossover? Who knows? Maybe someday. Maybe never. But one thing’s for sure, people are talkin’ about it. And in the wrestling world, just like in the gossipin’ circle at the church picnic, gettin’ folks talkin’ is half the battle. And for now, that’s all there is to it. They ain’t workin’ together right now, that’s for sure. But things can change, just like the weather. One minute it’s sunny, the next it’s pourin’ down rain. So, we’ll just have to wait and see, I reckon.
And that’s all I got to say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. Those hens are always gettin’ into mischief.
