Well now, let me tell ya, this here Carey Invitational is a big ol’ deal, y’know? It’s a soccer event that happens in Lewisville, Texas, and it brings folks from all over to show off their skills. This ain’t just any ol’ soccer game, no sir. It’s got them young ones, them middle-sized ones, and even the grown-ups playin’! Folks call it the “Carey Invitational” ’cause it’s a real invitation-only kind of thing. They ain’t just lettin’ anyone in. You gotta be good, real good. The event this year’s gonna take place from May 9 to May 11, 2025. You mark your calendars now, don’t forget! I tell ya, if you love soccer, you won’t wanna miss it!
Now, don’t get me wrong, this ain’t the first time they done had this event. Nope, this is the 40th year of it. Can you believe it? 40 years of kids runnin’ up and down that field, kickin’ that ball around. It all started back in the day, and now look at it—bigger than ever! They got them teams comin’ from all over the place, with different age groups too. We got the little ones, like them U7s and U8s, and then you got the bigger kids, up to U16. It’s a real mix of talent out there on them fields. Some of them players, they look like they’s born to play soccer!
The folks that put this event together, well, they’re from the Greater Lewisville Area Soccer Association, or GLASA as they like to call it. Now, GLASA, they been workin’ with SMC for the first time this year, so you know it’s gonna be somethin’ special. It’s gonna bring even more energy to the whole thing. It’s a partnership that’s gonna make this year’s invitational even better than before. People’s excited about it, and rightfully so. These folks, they know how to put on a good show.
Now, let me tell ya about the different levels of play. They got all sorts of categories. For instance, they got Advanced, Elite, and Intermediate levels. You might be askin’ yourself, “What’s that all about?” Well, it’s pretty simple. If you’re real good, you get in the Elite group, if you’re in between, you go to Intermediate, and if you’re just startin’ to get the hang of things, you go to the Advanced. There’s somethin’ for everybody, no matter how good you are. Ain’t no reason to feel left out!
And don’t think it’s just for the boys, neither. Nope, the Carey Invitational’s got a place for the girls too. They got girls’ teams in the U7 group, and even U8, U10, and U12 teams. It’s a real good time for everyone involved. Ain’t no better way to spend a weekend than watchin’ them kids play their hearts out on the field. They run, they kick, they slide, they dive—gives you a good ol’ time just watchin’ it!
Let me tell ya, the folks who organize all this, they don’t leave nothin’ to chance. Everything’s done right. You got your fields set up nice and neat, and they make sure everything runs smooth. When I went last time, the atmosphere was electric. People was hollerin’, cheerin’, clappin’ for their teams. There’s just somethin’ about the Carey Invitational that brings out the best in folks. It’s like one big family reunion, but instead of cookin’ up a big pot of beans, you’re watchin’ kids play soccer.

It’s an event for the whole family, that’s for sure. Whether you’re watchin’ your young’un play or just enjoyin’ the excitement of the games, there’s always somethin’ to do. You got food stands, games, and lots of folks walkin’ around with big smiles on their faces. Ain’t no stress, just fun and games. What’s not to love about that?
