Alright, let’s gab about these 2025 NBA Hall of Fame fellas. You know, the ones they’re gonna put in that big fancy building.
First off, ya gotta understand, these guys gotta be done playin’ for a good three years, three whole seasons, ya hear? Used to be five years way back when, then four, now it’s three. Guess they got tired of waitin’ around or somethin’.
Now, they got this big announcement at the NCAA Final Four. That’s in San Antonio this time, in April. Fancy place, I reckon, never been myself. But that’s where they holler out the names, like they’re callin’ bingo or somethin’.
So, who we got this year, in 2025? Lots of names gettin’ tossed around, like beans in a pot.

- Shawn Marion – Now, there’s a fella who could run all day long. Always movin’, like a chicken with its head cut off, but in a good way, ya know? Played a long time, too, from 2000 to 2015. That’s a lotta games.
- Buck Williams – Tough as nails, that one. Played before my time mostly, but I heard stories. Reboundin’ machine, they say. From 1982 to 1998. That’s what I call stickin’ with it.
- Horace Grant – Another one from back in the day. 1988 to 2004. Always seemed to be winnin’ championships, no matter where he went. Lucky fella, or maybe just real good. Probably both.
- Terry Porter – Point guard, fancy passer. 1986 to 2002. Knew how to run a team, like a good foreman on a farm. Gotta have one of those.
There’s others too, lots of ’em. They got whole lists, probably longer than my grocery list, and that’s sayin’ somethin’.
Now, they talk about Marc Gasol. Big fella, from over there in Spain. Solid player, not flashy, but got the job done. Like a good tractor, just keeps chuggin’ along. He’s gettin’ mentioned a lot. They say he might make it.
And Jeff Teague, too. Quicker than a hiccup, that one. Good ball handler, could score when he needed to. Another one of them point guards, always zippin’ around.
It ain’t just players, though. They put in coaches and referees too. Gotta give them fellas some credit, even if they blow the whistle too much sometimes. But they gotta be retired for three seasons as well, just like the players. Fair’s fair, I guess.
This whole Hall of Fame thing, it’s in Springfield. Massachusetts, I think. They got a whole building there, full of jerseys and balls and pictures. Probably takes all day to see it all. They say there’s even a Dr. Seuss Museum nearby. Never read that fella’s books myself, but some folks like ‘em.
They also got somethin’ called the Springfield Armory and a Yankee Candle Village close by. Sounds like a nice little trip if you got the time. But that Hall of Fame, that’s the main attraction, I reckon.
So, in 2025, we’ll see who they pick. It’s always a big to-do, folks gettin’ all worked up about who should be in and who shouldn’t. Like arguin’ over the best pie at the county fair. Everyone’s got their opinion.
Who really deserves to be in there? Well, that’s the million-dollar question. You gotta look at the numbers, the wins and losses, the championships, the points scored, all that jazz. But it ain’t just about numbers, ya know? It’s about impact, how they played the game, what they meant to their teams and the fans.
Some guys, they just had that somethin’ special, that spark. You could see it in their eyes, the way they carried themselves. They weren’t just playin’ basketball, they were entertainin’, inspirin’, maybe even teachin’ somethin’ along the way.
Anyways, I’m lookin’ forward to seein’ who they choose. It’s always fun to see those old timers gettin’ recognized for all their hard work. They put in the time, sweated and bled for the game, and now they get to be immortalized in that big fancy building. Good for them, I say.
And who knows, maybe some of these youngsters playin’ today, they’ll be in there someday too. It all comes down to dedication, passion and maybe a little bit of luck. That’s life, ain’t it?
So there you have it, a little somethin’ about this 2025 Hall of Fame class. Don’t take my word as gospel though, I’m just an old lady who likes to watch basketball every now and then.
