Alright, so you wanna know about this 2024 WNBA Prizm thing, huh? And when it’s comin’ out in the good ol’ USA? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a whole big to-do, like when the church ladies have their bake sale but with shiny cards instead of them dry cookies.
I heard some folks talkin’ down at the market, sayin’ these WNBA cards, they’re gettin’ real popular. Like, hotcakes popular. Used to be nobody cared much, but now everyone and their grandma wants ‘em. Especially this Caitlin Clark girl, they say she’s somethin’ special. Heard her rookie card is gonna be worth a pretty penny. More than a whole chicken coop, I betcha.
Now, this Prizm thing, it ain’t no ordinary card set, no sir. It’s like the fancy china you only use on holidays. Folks say it’s high-end, whatever that means. Sounds expensive to me. They got autographs in them, and pieces of jerseys too. Like, they cut up the players’ shirts and stuck ’em on the cards! Can you believe that? Waste of a good shirt if you ask me, but I ain’t no fancy collector.
- They say Prizm started way back in 2012. That’s a long time ago, I was still milkin’ cows back then.
- And they got these different colors, green and silver and gold. Like them fancy ribbons they put on prize-winning pigs at the county fair.
- Green ones, you can find ’em in the stores, but the shiny silver and gold ones? You gotta go to special places to get those, hobby boxes they call ‘em.
This year, they say it’s gonna be even bigger. The WNBA is breakin’ records, more people watchin’ than ever before. So, that means more folks wantin’ these cards. It’s like when the fishin’ is good, everyone and their brother shows up at the lake with their poles.
They talk about other players too, like this Jewell Loyd and Breanna Stewart. Big names, they say. I don’t know ‘em from Adam, but if their cards are worth somethin’, then I guess they must be good at throwin’ that ball around.
And there’s this other set too, Select WNBA, they’re callin’ it. Sounds fancy. All razzle-dazzle, they say. More stars, more cards to collect. It’s enough to make your head spin. Makes me think of that time the twins got into the candy store and went wild. Sugar everywhere, cards everywhere, same difference.
So, when is this 2024 Prizm comin’ out exactly? Well, that’s the million-dollar question, ain’t it? They don’t just tell ya these things straight out. You gotta hunt around, ask around. From what I hear, they like to release these things around the end of the WNBA season, when everyone’s all excited. So, if I had to guess, I’d say look for it in the fall, maybe September or October. But don’t quote me on that, I’m just a simple woman tryin’ to make sense of all this card craziness.
And this Angel Reese girl and A’ja Wilson, they’re popular too. Jackie Young, as well. Seems like a whole lotta names to remember. Back in my day, we just had one good player everyone knew. Now, it’s like a whole army of ’em.
Anyway, keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. If you really want these cards, you gotta be quick. They go fast, like them free samples at the grocery store. And be prepared to spend a little, or a lot, dependin’ on how fancy you wanna get. Me? I’ll stick to my chickens and my garden. Less fuss and bother, and they don’t come in shiny plastic wrappers.
One more thing, don’t go gettin’ yourself into debt over these cards. They’re just pictures on cardboard, remember that. Ain’t worth more than a good night’s sleep and a full belly. That’s what I always say.
